Janet Mae Gibson, of Fruitland Park, FL passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025. She was born on June 15, 1934, in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Fruitland Park from Stony Brook, NY in 1973.

She was Protestant by faith. Janet loved to bowl and volunteer at her community church in Stoney Brook, NY. The whole family started bowling together in Stony Brook, NY and their bowling adventures continued here in Florida. Her favorite times were watching her sons and grandchildren bowl and baking cookies at Christmas time. Christmas cookie baking, a tradition she loved passed down from her mother to her.

She then continued the tradition with her sons and grandchildren. She was a diehard Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed going to as many games as she could. Her favorite past time was watching her Atlanta Braves Baseball. She enjoyed her many years of vacationing in Sanibel Island with her family and grandchildren.

She was a devoted Mother/Grandmother to her son’s Richard (Eileen) and Thomas (Virginia) Gibson of Daytona Beach, FL and Grandchildren Jason and Kyle Gibson of Orlando, FL and Heather Gibson of Lady Lake, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Gibson, brother Warren Schaudt and grandson Brian Gibson.

A memorial service will be held at the Beyers Funeral Chapel in Lady Lake, FL on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. followed by Inurnment at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
