Nancy Ellen Moe, 89, of Leesburg, Florida passed away peacefully in her home at Mayfield Retirement Center on Monday, May 5th, 2025. Nancy was born in Saco, Maine, to Walter and Dorothy Patterson. Nancy fondly recounted memories of family camping trips and pranking her mom with her brother Bob. She was a bright, dedicated scholar and a proud graduate of Thornton Academy.
As much as she loved her family, Nancy knew that she wanted to build her life in warm weather and moved with her first husband, Bud Byron, to Florida. She was a very hardworking mother to support her sons, Stephen and John. Her diligence and impeccable attention to detail through her career led her to rise to the title of Plant Accountant at Crown Cork and Seal. She was a stellar employee, constantly revered by her peers, making her mark in a male-dominated industry. After decades of dedicated service to the citrus industry, Nancy retired in 2000.
In her retirement, she found a love for RV travel across the United States with her husband, Robert and friends. They were proud members of The Bullsitters Club at the Moose Lounge. Nancy loved going to the beach, playing bingo and card games, reading, doing puzzles, spending evenings at the Opry and building community in church. She was a passionate fan of the Orlando Magic. She was the most wonderful host and a highly complimented cook. Nancy ultimately will be most remembered for how she loved her family and all of the wonderful memories she shared with them. Her family takes solace in knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with loved ones long remembered.
She is survived by her son John Edward Byron, daughter-in-law Monica Lynn Byron, grandson Nicholas Joseph Byron and granddaughter Victoria Grace Byron. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Moe, brother Bob Patterson and her eldest son, Stephen Jay Byron.
