
Clyde Lee Clause Sr., 95, of Mount Dora, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025. Born in Benson Junction, Florida, to Zana Marjorie Lee and Alva G. Clause.
Clyde lived a life marked by devotion-to his family, his country, his faith, and his community. A proud graduate of Wildwood High School, Class of 1948, Clyde served his country with honor in the United States Navy for four years. Following his service, he dedicated 48 years of his life to working on the railroad, a career marked by perseverance and pride.
A 62-year member of the Wildwood Masonic Lodge, Clyde achieved the distinguished rank of 32nd Degree Mason. He also served as Grand Worthy Patron of the Eastern Star and was a committed Shriner. His life was one of service and commitment, grounded in deep Christian faith and guided by strong principles.
Clyde was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wilma Jane Clause, and his son, Clyde Lee Clause Jr.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Cheryl (Tim) Barnes and Zana (Nolan) Raybon, and his daughter-in-love, Lynn (Clyde Jr). His legacy lives on through his grandchildren: Christa (Scott) Hedberg, Connie (Scott) Hoover, Jordan (Brian) Mitchell, Ryan (Brett) Dady, Rachel Conliffe, Matt (Jessica) Barnes, Stephen Conliffe, Jesse (M’Lynn) Conliffe, and Austin Kennedy; 14 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
An avid hunter and fisherman, Clyde found joy in the outdoors and cherished the time spent with his family. His faith, work ethic, and sense of humor will be remembered by all who knew and loved him. A celebration of Clyde’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his honor to Cornerstone Hospice.
