Patricia Nichols Fisher was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on the 12th of August, 1940 to parents Robert B. and Helen M. Nichols. She passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, April 24, 2025.
Pat held a master’s degree from the University of Tennessee and started her career in Chattanooga, Tennessee teaching English to high school students. She moved to Umatilla, Florida in 1986 and taught at Umatilla High School until she retired in 2009. She was a dedicated teacher and always tried to inspire and help her students be successful. She served as a literacy coach for new teachers and provided a valuable development path for students to pursue career placement.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Barbara A. Smith, and daughter, Edie M. N. Brantly. She is survived by her spouse of twenty-nine years, Almon Fisher. She leaves behind a daughter Ellen B. (George) Sydnor and grandson Evan D. L. Brantly. Besides her immediate family, she leaves behind a niece, nephew, cousins and friends.
