Fredrick Aubrey Joyner, Jr.

Fredrick Aubrey Joyner Jr., age 78, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and
friend, passed away peacefully April 9, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. Freddie was
born September 25, 1946 in Tallahassee, Florida. He was predeceased by his parents
Aubrey and Willodeen Joyner.

He devoted 32 years to the Leon County School System teaching electronics at Lively
Vocational Center. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, serving tours in the
Vietnam War on the USS America and USS Kitty Hawk.

He was a servant for the Lord, a skilled handyman, a carefree jokester, and the light of every room he entered. Freddie was a sweet man that cared for others with a love that was genuine, immediate, and enduring, and was loved by all who were blessed enough to know him. He was the embodiment of unconditional Christlike love, and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Freddie is survived by his adoring wife of 57 years, Leslie; his loving children Ledean
(Carey), and Brent; his five “mighty special” grandchildren Mason, Aubrey (Scoot),
Peryn, Olivia, and Brynn; his caring sisters Nelda Dudley, Charlotte Cooksey, and
Maxine Wenzinger (Joe); and sweet nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
