A homeless man in Leesburg was arrested for trespassing after being caught loitering near Publix at Palm Plaza.
An officer observed 52-year-old Joseph Scott Armagost loitering near the Publix at Palm Plaza, located at 717 N. 14th St., at 11:15 p.m. Sunday, March 30, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. He knew Armagost from multiple prior encounters around the city of Leesburg.
Upon making contact with Armagost, the officer’s in-house database revealed that he was previously trespassed from the entire property. The warning was issued to him on June 3, 2024, the report said.
Armagost was subsequently arrested on charge of trespass after warning. He was transported to Lake County Jail and released on his own recognizance. He is responsible for appearing in court on April 23.
