Fast-growing Chipotle chain to add another restaurant in Lake County

A new Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurant will be built this year in Lake County.

The 2,493-square-foot restaurant is on track to be constructed in the Lost Lake area of Clermont.

The news comes as an apparently false rumor has been sweeping the country, making the erroneous claim that Chipotle is closing all of its restaurants. To the contrary, Chipotle said it plans to open up to 345 new restaurants in 2025. The company has indicated it is in great financial shape, with no debt and $2 billion in cash reserves.

There are already two Chipotle restaurants in Clermont, one on State Road 50 and one at Cagan Crossings. There are also Chipotle restaurants in Leesburg and Lady Lake. There are 264 Chipotle restaurants in Florida.
