With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kenneth Wayne Cartwright, who left this world on March 13, 2025, in Leesburg, Florida. Born on April 4, 1956, in Berrien, Michigan, Kenny lived a life full of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to family.
On October 20, 1979, Kenny married the love of his life, Connie Cartwright, and together they built a beautiful legacy—one centered on family, tradition, and countless cherished memories. He is survived by his children, Josh Bell (Jodi Bell), Jessica Keely (Matt Keely), and Jake Cartwright (Lauren Cartwright), who will carry on his wisdom, humor, and deep love for those who mattered most.
Kenny was the proud grandfather of Makenna Garrow (Nate Garrow), Taylor Hudson (Avery Hudson), Mariah Keely (Tito), Maddie Keely, Michael Keely, Emalyn Cartwright, and Jackson Cartwright. His joy multiplied with his great-grandchildren, Haven, Hallie, Navy, Ximena, Yaretzi, and Mateo, who were blessed to experience his warmth and wisdom. He is also survived by his brother James Cartwright (Debora Cartwright) and many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Eugene Cartwright, Patricia Frances Cartwright, and his brother, Gordie Cartwright.
A Life Well-Lived
Kenny dedicated his career to HVAC sales, becoming a well-respected figure at Universal Spiral Air (U.S.A.). A natural leader and mentor, he earned the title “Patriarch of HVAC Sales” and left a lasting impact on colleagues and clients alike.
Beyond work, his passions defined him. Kenny was a devoted Detroit Tigers and Lions fan—forever faithful, despite the heartbreak. “Go Blue!” was a phrase often heard from him, proudly supporting Michigan sports. He found peace on the golf course, joy in his vast music and record collection, and camaraderie as the King of Deer Camp. He loved car shows with family, Friday night bonfires with a cold Bud Light in hand, and shuffleboard battles that he often won (or at least claimed to).
Above all, family was everything to Kenny. He never missed a game, a recital, or a moment to let his kids and grandkids know just how proud he was of them. His Catholic background shaped his values and the way he cared for others.
A Legacy of Love & Laughter
Kenny’s sense of humor and quick wit made every gathering special. He was a man of many sayings, but none more famous than:
“It’s the weekend!”—a phrase that marked the beginning of good times, great company, and unforgettable memories.
His guiding lesson? Family is everything.
His greatest tradition? “Do whatever Connie says.”
While it’s impossible to choose just one favorite memory, his family and friends will forever cherish the countless moments of laughter, love, and lessons he left behind.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer of 2025, where stories will be shared, music will play, and his legacy will live on in every heart he touched.
And as we remember him, we leave you with one final thought:
“On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair…”
Rest easy, Kenny. You were one of a kind.
