A Leesburg woman was arrested after being caught driving with a suspended license for the second time in a few weeks.

A deputy conducted a traffic on a white Chevy for not having a functional license plate near U.S. Highway 441 and Fern Drive at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, March 9, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. After running the tag, he discovered the registered owner, 30-year-old Jaqueesha Lavette Lott, had a suspended driver’s license.

Upon approaching the vehicle, the deputy informed Lott of the reasons for the stop. She acknowledged that she was aware of the suspended license and mentioned having a court date on March 18. The deputy then asked for her license, which positively identified her as the registered owner, the report said.

A check of Lott’s information revealed she had been pulled over on Feb. 21 for the same reason. She had been issued a criminal court date of March 18, the report said.

Lott was subsequently arrested on charge of driving while license suspended (second or subsequent offense. She was transported to Lake County Jail and released after posting $500 bond.
