Bruce Robert Kallenburg, 69, of Leesburg, FL and formerly of the Village of Colonie passed away suddenly on Tuesday March 11th, 2025.

Bruce was born February 14, 1956 in Manhattan, adopted at birth by Joan and Harold Kallenburg and grew up in the Village of Colonie. He was a graduate of Colonie Central High School, Class of 1974. He also earned an Associate’s degree from Hudson Valley Community College in 1988.

Bruce was employed by Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in Niskayuna as a Senior Mechanical Engineer and embraced early retirement due to his limited mobility. He continued utilizing his years of knowledge as a committee member of ASTM International.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 41 years Antoinette (Toni) Agneta Kallenburg, his daughters Michelle (Justin) Finch and Julianne (Kevin) Pittz, and five grandchildren Lucas, Jadyn, Keegan, Bailey and Conor. He is also survived by his two biological sisters Judy Mnich, Nancy Slish and their families whom he met only 2 years ago with the help of 23andMe.

Bruce was well known in his FL neighborhood for riding around on his scooter, talking to neighbors, always with his canine companion, Dory.

While in NY, Bruce’s hobbies included boating, billiards, bowling and any home construction project he could think of. He spent the last 6 years full time in Florida where you could find him most Sundays ‘scooting’ around the World Showcase at EPCOT and attending many concerts; he was an avid fan of 60’s and 70’s music. He also enjoyed classic cars and the annual Turkey Run in Daytona. While in NY for a few weeks each summer, he visited friends and spent time with his children and grandchildren.
