Mildred H. Garza, age 90 of Astatula, FL passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025. She was born December 3, 1934 in Tennessee and moved to Florida over 60 years ago.
She worked for many years as a carrot picker in the agriculture industry.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Chambliss of Defuniak Springs, FL; brothers, Arthur Hancock of TN and Harvey Hancock of TN; sister, Helen Jackson of TN; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Bessie Hancock; husband, Monico Garza, Jr.; sons, Ricky Hall and David Hall; daughters, Diane Smith and Hilda Savia; brother, John F. Hancock; sister, Bobby Sutton; and granddaughter, Sissy Smith.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares.
A Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Astatula Cemetery.
