Debra Sue Jernigan, 65, of Leesburg Florida passed away on March 2, 2025. She was born on December 8, 1959 in Newport News Virginia. She is preceded in death by her father and stepmother Clarence Gerald Jernigan Sr. and Gayle M. Jernigan, and her brother Omer Jernigan. She is survived by her daughter Rachel Davis, her mother Joyce Chambers, and her siblings Jerry (Wanda) Jernigan Jr., Billy (Trish) Jernigan, Mike (Roxanne) Jernigan, and Vivian (Randy) Judy as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
At an early age Sue was involved in a tragic accident which resulted in a lifetime disability. However, she rose above her challenges. All who knew Sue knew she was a walking, talking miracle of God. She graduated from Tavares High School. She was the boss of the family and worked hard at telling her brothers and sister just what to do. She experienced a full life and was a light in everyone’s eyes. Her motto was live, laugh and dance. She enjoyed all types of music and was an Elvis Presley fanatic. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her; until we reunite in heaven.
A graveside service will be held at Tavares Cemetery located at 2055 Dead River Road, Tavares Florida at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 29 2025.
