White Castle will break ground for its first restaurant in Lake County.
The groundbreaking event has been scheduled for April 9 at the Plaza Collina development at the intersection of State Road 50 and Plaza Collina in Clermont.
Leesburg-News.com first announced the new White Castle late last year.
The new 3,220-square-foot restaurant will include indoor and outdoor seating, two drive-through lanes, and is expected to create 75 new jobs.
This newest White Castle will sport the iconic tower in a sleek, modern industrial-style architectural design.

White Castle is America’s first fast-food hamburger chain, founded in 1921 as a family-owned business which has operated for more than 100 years.
This new Lake County White Castle is only the second in Florida, joining its sister property — the largest free-standing White Castle in the world — which opened in southwest Orlando in 2021.
In 2022, White Castle opened its first take-out location next to the other facility in Orlando, although that establishment does not offer dining services.
In addition to White Castle, Lake County also saw the addition of another chain from the Midwest recently with the opening of Portillo’s.
