
With broken hearts, we announce the passing of Kim Melinda Falanga, on February 28, 2025. Kim was born on February 2, 1965. Kim was a warrior in every sense, facing life’s challenges with grace and strength.
Born in Queens, NY, resided with her family in Brooklyn, NY and then in Kingston, NY. Kim was a 1983 graduate of Kingston High School.
Kim resided in St. Petersburg, FL, and eventually Saratoga, NY where she began her career as a dedicated and caring Human Services Professional.
She worked at the Center for Disability Services in Albany, NY and Saratoga Bridges NYSARC, Inc. in Ballston Spa, NY providing a positive and empathetic attitude to all those she cared for and supervised. Most recently, Kim worked at Ollies in Leesburg, FL.
Kim is predeceased by her Mother Lois Falanga Hamilton, Stepfather J.C. Hamilton, Father Thomas Falanga and maternal grandparents Herbert and Muriel Honeck.
Kim is survived by her sister Renée Falanga-Brenner of Highland, NY, brother Thomas Falanga and his wife Frances, of Fairfax, VA. Uncle Frank Falanga and wife Vera of Wesley Chapel FL. Recently, the family found other siblings Denise Hellman, her children and husband Jack of Clearwater FL, Tom Hellman, his children and his fiancée, Luisa Sanchez of Tampa, FL, Lisa Gravano, her husband Mark and their children of Fresno, CA, Christoper D’Auria of Queens NY Sister-in-law Gina (Cooper) Clarke, her husband Will of Colonie, NY. Kim was a Foster Mother to Tosha Sarro of Saratoga Springs, NY, a human mother to her dog Trixie, and a kind and loving friend to many people near and far.
Kim was also the fun-loving Aunt to nieces Serena, Ariana, Liam and Hannah Brenner, Jennifer, Nicole Cooper, and Goddaughter Lindsey.
When she moved to Leesburg, FL from Saratoga, NY to care for her ill mother, she gained the friendship of many residents of Lake Griffin Harbor Village who supported her when her mom passed and when she was recently diagnosed with cancer.
Kim’s family would like to express a heartfelt thanks to the “Dockside Delinquents” and friends from Lake Griffin Harbor Village for all their support, love and care they gave Kim and her family.
A Celebration of Life for Kim will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Lake Griffin Harbor Village, 33399 Waterview Lane, Leesburg Florida 34788.
There will be another Celebration of Life for Kim in New York, date and time to be determined.
