Babs Mattox, 63, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2025 at home with her family. Babs was a lifelong resident of Leesburg and graduated LHS in 1979.
She received her bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Florida. She worked with the Lake County School Board for many years and then worked as a bookkeeper for Bailey Industries for 16 years. Babs enjoyed fishing, reading and going to the beach. She was an avid Gator fan and enjoyed attending games with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Mike; son, Casey of Leesburg; daughter, Kara Mattox of Orlando; sister, Beverly (Gary) Booth of Leesburg. She is preceded in death by her parents, Boyce & Patsy Williams.
A celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 8, 2025 at the Leesburg Boat Club. The family asks that you wear your Florida Gator attire.
