Robert Luckey passed away in the early morning of Thursday, January 2nd, 2025 from recently diagnosed cancer.
Bob was born, March 4, 1934, to Robert and Pearl (Darby) Luckey, Indianapolis, Indiana.

Bob served in the U.S. Navy after which he worked with some of the first computers for the Navy building early sonar equipment and sonar research. He graduated from Rollins College in the late 1960s.

After retiring, Bob found a new calling. He served as Lake County, Florida’s longest running Santa Clause at a single venue at the Lake Square Mall. He thrived in this new role and provided Christmas magic for 27 years.

In his younger days, he and his wife, Mary, enjoyed hiking the Appalachian Trail, motorcycle riding and square dancing.

Mr. Luckey is survived by his wife, Mary, his step daughter, Kathy Osborne (Robert), son, Kevin Luckey ( Karen), Karen Lewis (Jeff) and Teresa Finch (Jim) and grandchildren Steven Osborne, Jenny Blackburn (Ben), Erin Garcia-Luckey (Sonia), Jeremy Luckey (Kristina), Natasha Finch. He also had 7 great grandchildren, Vivienne Blackburn, Angelina Luckey, Julian Luckey, De’Andre Monroe, Demetri Monroe, De’Sean Monroe, JeKale Forbes.
