The family of William Albert Weldon of Tavares, Florida, is saddened to announce his passing on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at the age of 90 years.

He was born on October 5, 1934, in Starke, Florida, to Gladys & Steven A. Weldon. Billy served in the U.S. Army and Merchant Marines before becoming a Trooper with the Florida Highway Patrol and retiring after 30 years. Billy loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Pennie; daughters Elana Williams (Kenny) and Angie Ross (Chuck); 3 grandchildren Kimberly Albert (Ryan); Emily Elliot (Hunter); Chaise Ross and 3 great grandchildren (Audrey, Weston & Blaire); sister Martha Weldon Alogna and many nieces and nephews.

To commemorate his remarkable life and the memories we cherish, a service will be held at Celebration Baptist Church of Leesburg, 25321 US Highway 27, The Plantation Road, Leesburg, Florida, 34748.

A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a funeral following at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2024. We welcome all who knew him to join us in celebrating the life of a man who was loved deeply and will be missed. Billy’s final resting place will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
