Ida Canal, 90, of Leesburg Florida was born September 29,1934 in Guillestre, France and died December 13, 2024 in Leesburg, Florida.
After immigrating to the United States in 1958, Ida enjoyed a long career as a tailor in New Jersey until her retirement in 1991. She moved to Leesburg in 1994 from Sicklerville, New Jersey. She volunteered at: The Plantation Ladies Group making quilts for hospitalized children; the Leesburg Hospital and at First Presbyterian Church of Leesburg where she was a member. She enjoyed traveling to Italy and France to visit family and friends.
She is survived by: son Daniel Canal, and wife Kathy of Florissant, CO; granddaughter Sara Canal and husband Romeo Hicks of Alamogordo NM; and other loving extended family.
A visitation for Ida will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Beyers Funeral Home, 1123 W. Main St, Leesburg, FL 34748 with services beginning at 11:00 a.m. and interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Leesburg, Florida. A celebration of life will be held at Rodello’s Italian Restaurant afterwards at 1:00 p.m., 26736 US-27, Leesburg, FL 34748.
