Jeanette Fryer, 89, passed away peacefully at home in Yalaha, Florida on December 9th, 2024. She was born in Syracuse, NY, The daughter of Guy and Leona Doane. She moved to Florida in the early 1950’s, soon meeting her first husband, James Myers. Together they had four children. When they divorced in the mid 1970’s, Jeanette got her driver’s license, bought a 1964 AMC Rambler and began working at Frito Lay Inc., where she met her second husband Donald Fryer. They remained married until his passing in 2016.

Jeanette worked for several retirement buildings throughout her career, where she loved talking with residents and making numerous friends. She was an animal lover with a particularly soft spot for dogs. Above all else, Jeanette loved her family and fully embraced her role as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great-grandmother.

Jeanette is survived by her four children, Linda Pitts, Gail Abernethy, Karen Seelig and James Myers, Jr, three grandchildren, Marcene Linzey, Michelle Daughtrey and Josh Daughtrey, three great grandchildren Christopher Linzey, Nicholas Rodriquez and Anthony Rodriguez. One great-grandchild Victoria Bowen and one great-great grandchild Isabella Rodriguez.

She was preceded in passing by her parents, her siblings James Doane, Ernest Doane, Richard Doane, Ronald Doane, Robert Doane and Shirley Nelepovitz Holmes and her granddaughter Melinda Daughtrey.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourage donations in Jeanette’s name the AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION and/or The Humane Society or your local pet shelters.
