A man riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle was killed in a crash Saturday in Lake County.
The 57-year-old Sanford man was riding a 2020 Harley Davidson FXLRS at 5:03 p.m. Saturday southbound on State Road 44 at Bottany Woods Drive in Eustis when he failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the roadway and collided with a concrete mailbox, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
He was transported by ambulance to AdventHealth Hospital in Deland where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.
The report noted he had not been wearing a helmet.
The crash remains under investigation.
