A deputy responded to a domestic dispute between a girlfriend and boyfriend who lived together at an undisclosed Leesburg residence around 12:25 p.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Upon arrival, the deputy met 53-year-old Sharon Duggs Williams and her family members outside the residence. She stated she caught her boyfriend, the victim, cheating on her, so she grabbed a pile of his clothes and threw it outside while yelling get out. The victim got up and tried to stop her, the report said.

Williams responded by grabbing the victim’s head and scratching the right side of his face. He pushed her off and continued to verbally argue. The victim ran out of the house because he thought Williams would grab a knife and stab him while inside the kitchen. Williams locked the door until law enforcement was on scene, the report said.

The deputy next spoke to the victim who stated he was lying in bed when Williams came home from work and started to throw his clothes out of the house. He confronted her about it until she grabbed the side of his face and scratched him. He pushed her into the kitchen where she allegedly grabbed a knife and chased him out of the house where she locked the door, the report said.

The deputy observed a small laceration to the right side of the victim’s face which appeared to be from a fingernail. He also saw small spots of blood on his t-shirt from where he wiped the scratch, the report said.

Due to conflicting statements, no arrest was made in regard to the knife. The deputy did not find any knife other than the knives in the kitchen that did not appear to have been touched or tampered with, the report said.

Additionally, Williams and the victim had been having civil issues for the past couple of months which led up to these events, the report said.

Williams was ultimately arrested on charge of simple battery (domestic). She was transported to Lake County Jail with bond set at $1,000.
