Due to expected impacts from Hurricane Helene, several Leesburg facilities will close at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25 and remain closed through Thursday, Sept. 26.
Offices will reopen on Friday, Sept. 27, weather permitting. Closings include City Hall, Leesburg Public Library, Venetian Center, Resource Center, Public Works and the Leesburg gymnasium.
Due dates for utility bills that are due during this period will be deferred until offices reopen. Late fees have also been suspended for the closure period.
Curbside collection of solid waste and yard waste will be suspended Thursday, Sept. 26. Customers regularly scheduled for pick-up on Thursday will be picked up Monday, Sept. 30. It is anticipated that normal garbage and yard waste collection schedules will resume Friday, Sept. 27.
