A homeless man in Orlando who was trespassing at an apartment complex was tasered when he struck and tried running from deputies.

Deputies responded to a trespass complaint from an undisclosed Lake County address around 2:26 p.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Prior to law enforcement’s arrival, the male victim advised the Lake County Communication Center that the suspect who battered him on Aug. 4, identified as 38-year-old Adam Terrell Walker, was sitting on the stairwell of his apartment. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and jeans exiting through the back gate of the apartment complex, the report said.
Once at the scene, the deputies canvassed the area until they found Walker on Town Center Boulevard headed toward U.S. Highway 192. A deputy approached him, and he repeatedly reached into his waistband and pockets. He was ordered to remove his hands and not to go into his pockets, the report said.
The deputy then noticed a round lump in Walker’s right pocket. He once again ordered Walker to cease his actions, at which time he tried to gain control of Walker’s hand. Walker pulled away from the deputy and instead began walking backward to run away, the report said.
The deputy tried to grab Walker, causing him to attempt to strike the deputy with a closed fist. Walker continued to run backwards as the deputy pulled out a taser. He administered two prongs in Walker’s direction and struck him in the upper right chest and lower left abdominal area. Walker fell backward to the ground and struck his head on the concrete, the report said.
Walker was evaluated for injuries, and the deputy observed a small laceration to the backside of his head. Lake County Fire and Lake County EMS responded for further evaluation, the report said.
The deputies proceeded to search Walker and found a clear plastic baggie with several white pills and a brown baggie with white and green pills. The report noted that both baggies together were round. These pills were found in Walker’s right pocket where the deputy observed a lump and where Walker was reaching with his hands.
The victim responded to the incident location and positively identified Walker as the suspect who battered him. He wished to continue with prosecution. Meanwhile, Walker was transported by EMS to Orlando Health South Lake Hospital, located at 16966 Cagan Ridge Boulevard in Clermont, the report said.
Medical staff were able to positively identify Walker. He was medically cleared and released, the report said.
The report noted that Walker was arrested three times in the last six months referencing an Orange County warrant on April 22, a violation of probation on April 29 and a robbery by sudden snatching in Orlando on June 11. A “no bond” status was to be requested for the previous charges.
Walker was arrested on charges of assault on law enforcement officer and resisting officer without violence. He was transported to Lake County Jail to be held on $17,000 bond.
