Gloria M. De Libro
Gloria M. De Libro

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gloria De Libro on June 11, 2024. She passed away peacefully, at the age of 77, with her daughter at her side.

Gloria was born on January 25, 1947 in Freeport, Long Island, New York, to Caroline Mink (Mackey) and George Mink. She grew up in Bellmore and attended Wellington C. Mepham High School.

Shortly after High School, in 1966, she married Daniel De Libro, and together they built a Family. Gloria had 6 children; one girl, and 5 boys. Later the family relocated to Florida, where Gloria volunteered as a Teacher’s Assistant at the local elementary school her younger boys attended. She became a devoted member of a local Baptist Church, and developed several new meaningful, long-time friendships. She thoroughly enjoyed cooking family dinners and family gatherings. She took great pleasure in volunteering at the church’s Food Pantry as well. Gloria loved to read and study her Bible in the early hours of the morning. She felt fulfilled when she could share the Love of God with the patients under her care, during her career as a Patient Care Tech and Home Health Aide. Gloria retired from Cornerstone Hospice in 2020, at age 73, and was a model employee, as she was known by her coworkers and friends as a kind and compassionate, God-fearing Woman, who always went the extra mile.

Gloria is survived by her beloved Husband Daniel, her daughter, Gina (Gregory) Ferguson, her Sons Daniel Jr (Sarah) De Libro, Christopher (Carey) De Libro, Andrew De Libro (Amanda Fields McPherson), Timothy (Dava) De Libro, Nicholas (Cody) De Libro, her Siblings George Jr. (Patricia) Mink, and Joann (Michael-deceased) De Libro. Many loving grandchildren and nieces and nephews will also cherish her memories. She was predeceased by her parents, and 2 brothers, Eugene Mink, and Ronald Mink.

Gloria will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for the Lord, and her family and friends. She touched the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy of treating people with dignity and respect, and offering encouragement to the hurting.

A Celebration of her Life/Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at New Life Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Lavista St., Fruitland Park, Fl 34731.

Gloria’s family would like to extend a special thank you to staff members at North Campus Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for the special care they provided during her final days.
