Velda L. Sylvester of Grand Island, Florida passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024. She was 65 years old. Val was born in Evansville, Indiana. She and her husband, David, moved to Grand Island from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio in December 2021.
Val was a stay-at-home mom while she was raising her children. She would also babysit for other children. Later, she worked for Coltene / Whaledent Dental Supply Co. in Ohio for 15 years before retiring in 2021.
She enjoyed making crafts. Val loved the beach. She also enjoyed fishing with Dave. They purchased a cabin in Coshocton, Ohio and enjoyed going there on weekends before they relocated to Florida.
Val is remembered and will be dearly missed by her husband of 37 years, David; daughters, Tracie Anderson (Jeremy) of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and Amanda Leffel (Bradley Huffman) of Cleveland, Ohio; sons, Shawn Matheney of Cuyahoga Falls and Eric Sylvester of Stow, Ohio; as well as 7 grandchildren.
