Addison Evans, 80, of Leesburg, FL, went to be with the Lord on June 2, 2024, in his hometown. Lee was born on December 1, 1943, in Leesburg, FL, to William Fred and Maria Evans. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for 4 years as a chaplain’s assistant.

Lee dedicated his life to serving God along-side his family and friends. He worked as a fiber optics cable splicer at Sprint before retiring after 33 years. During that time, Lee and his wife, Gail, oversaw the first Children’s Home at First Baptist Church Leesburg from 1985 – 1994, where they cared for over 900 abused or neglected children. After his retirement, Lee served as Director of the Christian Care Center Benevolence Center for 9 years and continued to volunteer there until his passing.

A faithful member of First Baptist Church of Leesburg since 1979, he spent much of his time ministering to others. His service to the Lord included bus ministry, telephone prayer ministry, serving as a Deacon and serving on multiple committees. He was known for his love of golfing, fishing, playing cards, playing scrabble with Gail, and watching sports, especially the Florida Gators.

Lee is survived by his loving wife, Gail; daughter, Dawn Evans; son, Joseph Evans; daughter, Danna Kessler (husband Brian); grandsons, Nathan & Gavin Kessler; and sister, Trudi Fauchier.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 8, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Beyers Funeral Home Chapel located 1123 West Main St, Leesburg, FL 34748.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 9, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church Leesburg, 220 N 13th St, Leesburg, FL. Everyone is invited for fellowship and refreshments after the service.
