Dennis West

Dennis Charlton West, age 70, of Tavares, Florida, passed away on January 8, 2024. He was born on July 9, 1953, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Dennis retired from the field of telecommunications, receiving numerous awards throughout his career, culminating in a certificate of appreciation from the Pioneers Network in 2022.
He was a devoted member of West Orlando Baptist Church and later found a deep connection with Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Bell, Florida, under the guidance of Reverend Jimmy Fletcher.
Dennis was known for his quiet and kind nature, always putting his family first. He enjoyed spending time with his loved ones and engaging in hobbies such as working on motors with his son, tinkering with motorcycles, and reselling them.
He is survived by his wife Christy West, children Alex, Lyndon Heath/Jeanette, and Esterlita Necole, with former wife Esterlita Faircloth. Grandchildren Harmony, Paige, Quinn, Michael, and Serenity, as well as great grandchildren Eleanore and Rose. His brother Marc-Toni Curles, sister Claire Starks, nieces, and nephews. Dennis was preceded in death by his father figure, David Medford Curles, his mother Mary Olive Curles, and birth father Charlton West.
A ceremony to honor his life will be held on March 30, 2024, at Harmony Baptist Church in Meigs, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Research. Central Florida Cremation in Florida is assisting with the funeral arrangements.
