A deputy responded to a trespass complaint at Circle K, located at 24421 State Road 50, around 2 p.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

On arrival, the deputy met with the store manager who advised that 20-year-old Travis Leon Shiver was outside. He had been there for about an hour or more pacing back and forth in front of the store. This caused her and another employee to be uncomfortable, so she wanted him trespassed, the report said.

The deputy then spoke with Shiver and explained that the store requested he be trespassed from the property. He asked for Shiver’s ID, which he declined to hand over before asking the deputy if he could get him a drink from the store. The deputy advised him that he could not do that and again asked him to leave the property, the report said.

Shiver responded by telling the deputy he would go crazy if he did not get a drink. When told not leaving the store’s property would be a misdemeanor trespass after warning, he asked if they could “go that route.” The deputy asked if he was refusing to leave, to which Shiver stated he was, the report said.

As a result, Shiver was arrested and charged with trespass after warning. He was transported to the Lake County Jail with bond set at $1,000.
