A deputy observed the driver of a black Ford SUV, later identified as 51-year-old Ileana Rivera, driving through a parking lot at Circle K, located at 2211 Citrus Boulevard, around 11:26 p.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

The vehicle proceeded to park near a gas pump, at which point the deputy identified Rivera and knew her license was suspended. She got out of her vehicle, and the deputy parked behind it. He then spoke to Rivera and confirmed her license was suspended, the report said.

At that point, the deputy detained Rivera and placed her inside his patrol vehicle. She admitted she was aware of her suspended license. So, she was taken into custody and transported to the Lake County Jail without incident, the report said.

Additionally, an inventory of her vehicle was taken prior to towing. During this, another deputy discovered an open can of Natty Daddy beer in the front passenger floorboard, the report said.

The New York native was charged with operating a motor vehicle without a valid license. She was also issued citations for driving while license is suspended with knowledge and possession of an open container when operating a vehicle. Bond was set at $1,000.
