Deijhanique Davis, 26, was taken into custody last week by the Lake County Sherif’s Office on a warrant issued by Marion County for the incident from July 2023.

On the morning of July 17, 2023, an officer with the Ocala Police Department responded to reported criminal mischief at 1676 NW 27th Avenue, according to an arrest report from the Ocala Police Department.

Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the male victim. He advised that at about 11 a.m., his brother left the aforementioned address to see Davis, his ex-cohabitant of one and half years, smashing his car’s windshield and window with a golf club. His brother filmed her as she left in her vehicle and went northbound on Northwest 27th Avenue, the report said.

The victim explained that Davis had been upset with him for not helping her pay bills anymore. He also stated that she had been trying to get him to call her that morning and showed the officer two messages telling him to call her from about 10:30 a.m., the report said.

The officer observed the victim’s vehicle, a black Ford Crown Victoria, parked on the north side of the residence. The front windshield had two holes consistent with being hit by an object. Fresh glass was on the hood of the vehicle, and the front driver’s window was knocked in with glass lying inside on the driver’s seat. The victim advised that the damage would cost about $1,200 to repair, the report said.

The officer then spoke with the victim’s brother, the report said. He stated that he heard a noise outside, so he exited the residence to see Davis smashing the victim’s vehicle with a black golf club he described as looking old with white paint on it. When she saw him, she got into her black 2014 Nissan and left headed northbound on 27th Avenue. He was also able to video tape Davis leaving the residence, including a shot of the tag that traces back to her.

The officer recorded a copy of the video before responding to Davis’s residence, located at 2822 NE Jacksonville Road. Her vehicle was backed into the parking lot at the residence still warm to the touch, however no one would answer the door. He tried to contact Davis by her listed phone number, but every time he called, she manually sent him to voicemail, the report said.

A warrant was issued for Davis’s arrest on Jan. 16, and she was arrested the following day on charge of criminal mischief. She was transported to the Lake County Jail and released after posting $2,000.
