A Leesburg woman was arrested for battery after she allegedly struck one of three other people with a door during a fight at her residence.

Police responded to a possible battery in progress at an undisclosed Leesburg residence around 4:36 p.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.
Upon arrival, officers on scene met 24-year-old Anais Shavonne Reyes and the male witness outside the residence. He led one of the officers into the residence to meet with the female victim, his wife, the report said.
The witness advised that while in the home with the victim, Reyes and her fiancé, a verbal argument began between him and Reyes’ fiancé. Reyes asked her fiancé to get the baby’s bottle from outside to which he responded in a way the witness felt was disrespectful. The witness in return made a comment to Reyes’ fiancé about him being a man and doing his manly duties. Reyes’ fiancé then left the house to create space between him and the witness, the report said.
While in the middle of the verbal argument between the witness and Reyes’ fiancé, Reyes and the victim began arguing with the witness. In an attempt to remove Reyes’ child from the situation, the witness took the child into another room with the victim following him. Reyes then made comments to the witness about if he was going to start an argument, he needed to finish it. The witness began to leave the room to speak with Reyes’ fiancé outside. Reyes grabbed onto the witness’ shirt causing it to rip. This was determined to be unintentional, the report said.
While the witness was outside speaking with Reyes’ fiancé, she exited the residence and began another verbal argument between the witness and her fiancé. The victim also came outside and stood on the porch next to the door under the carport to try and deescalate the situation, the report said.
As she attempted this, Reyes made verbal threats to batter her. She tried to re-enter the residence through the door next to the victim, striking her with it and raising her arm as if to hit the victim. The victim then struck Reyes with an open hand on the right side of her face. This action enraged Reyes, causing a physical altercation between the two. The witness and Reyes’ fiancé observed the physical altercation and attempted to break up the fight, the report said.
While speaking with the witness, the officer also talked to the victim who provided a similar statement of the events. However, Reyes and her fiancé originally advised that no physical altercation happened. After Reyes was informed of the battery allegations, she stated the victim struck her in the face, the report said.
Reyes was ultimately charged with simple battery (domestic). The New York native was transported to the Lake County Jail and released after posting $500.
