The Father’s House Church Sisterhood Ministry will hold an event in Lake County next month to raise awareness about the problem of human trafficking.

The third annual A21 Walk For Freedom Lake County is scheduled for 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at Lake-Sumter State College, 9501 U.S. Hwy. 441 in Leesburg. The date has been designated a day of global awareness and local action in the fight against human trafficking, and thousands of participants in hundreds of cities across the world will walk single file holding posters about human trafficking and how to end it.

Participants will have the opportunity to hear from leading organizations about awareness, prevention, and how they can help end this heinous crime locally and globally. More than 900 residents, faith leaders, first responders, and community leaders have participated in the local event over the last two years.

Founded in 2008, A21 is one of the largest organizations in the world that is solely fighting human trafficking at the local, domestic, and international levels.
