Leesburg firefighters rescued a person from a burning mobile home at the Lakes of Leesburg.
The fire broke out at about 10 p.m. Thursday at the mobile home off Buccaneer Drive.

When they crew of Ladder 63 arrived, they were told that one person was still in the mobile home. The firefighters entered the blazing structure before a hose line was set up. Firefighters were able to remove one individual who was still in the home. That person was then turned over to EMS for treatment and is expected to make a full recovery. The fire was extinguished, but the home was a total loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Two dogs and four cats die in fire at another mobile home
Lake County fire and rescue were dispatched at 7 p.m. Thursday evening to a mobile home fire located on Hialeah Avenue off of Indian Trail between Leesburg and Fruitland Park.

The firefighters found the home engulfed in flames when they arrived. They were able to extinguish the fire and treat two of the six family members who were injured. Two dogs and four cats died in the fire. The family lost all of their possessions and are now homeless. A GoFundMe for help page has been set up to raise funds to help the family.
Family members told firefighters that a three-year-old apparently set a bed on fire when he got a hold of a lighter.
