Rodney Wayne Freeman of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023. He was 91. Rodney was formerly of Eustis, Florida and moved to Jacksonville in April 2021.

Rod was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Free Church of Eustis, where he served as treasurer for many years. Rodney started his career with Bell South Telephone as a Communications Engineer, working in this field his entire career until he retired. He also volunteered conducting Bible study at the jail in Tavares. He and his wife, Dorothy, loved traveling in their motorhome, making numerous trips to Alaska, as well as spending summers in North Carolina. He loved the outdoors and camping and liked to play Golf in his younger years. Rodney enjoyed listening to blue grass music and his favorite blue grass artist was Jimmy Fortune.

Rodney was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy on March 29, 2022, after 40 years of marriage. He was also preceded by his two brothers, Watson Freeman and David Freeman. Rodney is survived by his children, Robyn Freeman of Gainesville, Florida and Michael (Liz) Freeman of Spring Hill, Florida, Bill Erickson of Eustis, Florida, Margie (Bob) Lee of Orange Park, Florida, and Kenny (Linda) Erickson of Leesburg, Florida; sister, Mary Catherine (Harry) Scott of Tallahassee, Florida; as well as 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
