Police responded to a jealously fueled brawl at Lake Griffin State Park.

An officer was called to investigate a battery complaint at the popular state park at around 9:27 a.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Fruitland Park Police Department.

The victim said that 49-year-old Dayern Marquqes Tieman had hit her. They were staying in a camper together at the park when they got into a verbal argument about Tieman talking to other women, the report said.

As the victim went to retrieve her belongings, Tieman struck her wrists. She claimed Tieman pushed her, and she pushed him back. During the altercation, Tieman pushed her to the ground. She then retrieved her phone and went to the park ranger’s station to call law enforcement, the report said.

Police then spoke to Tieman who stated he did not touch her, the report said. He claimed that he did push her, but she pushed him first. He also stated she had taken a lid from the heater in the camper and hit him with it.

The victim confirmed she hit Tieman with the lid, but it was after he pushed her, the report said. Several red marks around her wrists gave her statement consistency.

Tieman was arrested and charged with domestic simple battery. He was transported to the Lake County Jail without bond.
