Marvin (Tony) Cleveland Entz Jr., 83, of Fruitland Park, Florida passed away on January 9, 2023 peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Tony was born on September 21, 1939 to Marvin and Eula Kate Entz in Tallapoosa, Georgia.

Tony attended Leesburg High School and graduated in 1957. He then went into the Navy and was stationed in Bermuda for the 4 years he was serving our country. After the Navy, he went to work for Cape Canaveral in the Materials Warehouse in Cocoa Beach and was a part of several Apollo Missions, including Apollo 11 with Neil Armstrong. After the Apollo missions he was laid off and made his way back “home” to Leesburg. He took a job at Florida Telephone now known as Sprint/T-Mobile in Leesburg, Florida where he eventually retired after 40 years of faithful work. After retirement, he went to work at Leesburg Regional Medical Center as their mail courier for 11 years. Tony enjoyed making new friends while working at Leesburg Regional. He enjoyed FLORIDA GATOR football (GO GATORS) and traveling with his wife.

In 1972, Tony married his wife, Glenda “Hon” and they celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary December 2, 2022. They had 2 daughters, Erin Entz Lyles (Bert Lyles) and Chrissie Anne Land (Richard Land). He also had 4 grandchildren, Reagan, Reese, Ryleigh and Tucker Lyles whom he loved very much.

Tony was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Leesburg, Florida and he loved Jesus with his whole heart. Tony would want you to know that Jesus died for you and He loves you very much. Tony would love to see you in heaven one day.

Tony was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Entz, his mother Eula Kate Entz, his sisters, Bessey Damarus (Sissy) Mallory, Elizabeth Annette (Betty) Marrine, Merilyn Patricia (MeriPat) Chiariello.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda of 50 years, daughters, Erin Entz Lyles (Bert) & Chrissie Anne Land (Richard), his grandchildren, Reagan, Reese, Ryleigh and Tucker Lyles and numerous nephews, nieces and dear friends.

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Beyers Funeral Home in Leesburg, Florida.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Leesburg, Florida with visitation 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM with services beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens on Friday after the Celebration of Life.

Flowers and donations to the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mervin’s memory are welcome.
