A radiologist from Pennsylvania was arrested on a drunk driving charge in Leesburg after reportedly leaving a local drinking establishment.

Brian Dunleavy, 54, of Chalfont, Pa. was arrested Saturday morning after Leesburg police received a tip that a man had just left a local bar and appeared to have difficulty getting into gray Jeep.

A Leesburg officer spotted the Jeep and saw it make a U-turn against a red light. The Jeep drove up on the sidewalk before getting into the correct lane. The officer initiated a traffic stop and found that  Dunleavy had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath.

When asked for his driver’s license, he laughed and stated he “had been drinking due to it having been a rough day at work,” according to the arrest report. The officer told Dunleavy that they had received a call that he was leaving a local drinking establishment and Dunleavy nodded his head up and down. He was also slurring his words, the report noted.

He performed poorly in standardized field sobriety exercises and was placed under arrest for driving under the influence. Dunleavy was taken the Leesburg Police Department where he indicated he is a radiologist. He provided two breath samples which indicated his breath alcohol levels were .199 and .196. The New York native was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $1,000 bond.
