Lake and Sumter County residents in need of food before Thanksgiving are invited to the third annual ThanksGiveAway food distribution event on Thursday at Lake Sumter State College’s Leesburg campus.
The drive-thru event is hosted by the United Way of Lake and Sumter Counties, which is partnering with Lake Sumter State College, Lake Cares, and Second Harvest of Central Florida.
This year, frozen turkeys have been provided for this event by sponsorship by SERVPRO of Lake County and Sunday Cool. Food distribution will begin at 9:30 a.m. and run until all the food is distributed.
The college’s Leesburg campus is located at 9501 U.S. Highway 441. Participants should enter the campus at College Drive from U.S. Highway 441. Cars can start lining up at 9 a.m.
