Stanley “Stan” Glave Lawson, 74, passed away Friday October 21, 2021 at home with his loving wife and soul-mate, Pat Lawson by his side. Stan will live on in the joyful memories of his wife, Pat; daughters, April Bruce (Maurice) and Jennifer Droppleman (Gunner); three grandsons, P.J., Cameron, and Garrett; two granddaughters, Morgan and Jocelyn; and great granddaughter, Kyleigh.

Stan was born in Danville, Kentucky to the late Stanley and Mary Frances Lawson. Stan was an incredibly gifted musician, French horn player, educator, fisherman, scuba diver, historian, and story-teller. He was an accomplished symphony musician with the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra. He served in the Marine Corps and had the honor of playing in the Marine Corps band all over the world. He was a band director in various schools in Kentucky and in more recent years at Eustis Middle School, Mt. Dora High School, and Umatilla Middle School until his retirement in 2009. He had a love for Native American Culture and jewelry and enjoyed traveling out west with his wife to visit friends.

Stan is survived by his wife; two daughters; two son-in-laws; five grandchildren; one great granddaughter; his sister, Mary Ellen Klatte; his brother, Edward Klatte; two nieces; a nephew; and thousands of his beloved band students he taught over a 36 year career in education.

The family will celebrate his life privately and would like to give thanks to Cornerstone Hospice for their compassionate care and service.
