A Leesburg teen was arrested after he was apprehended with cash, ammunition and marijuana.

A Leesburg police officer spotted 19-year-old Sabari Dejuan Boone on Wednesday morning driving a car near the intersection of Baker Street and East Street. The officer initiated a traffic stop as he could see that Boone was not wearing his seat belt.

When the officer made contact with Boone, he could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from Boone’s car. When Boone got out of the vehicle, the officer saw a digital scale on the floorboard near Boone’s feet. When the officer searched the car, he found a baggie containing marijuana and two large glass jars with residue which indicated they once held large quantities of marijuana, according to the arrest report. The officer also found a Glock gun case and 9mm ammunition, but did not find a gun. There was $613 in small bills near the center console of the car.

When questioned, Boone admitted to owning the scales, jars and marijuana. He claimed that the cash came from his landscaping business.

Boone was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia used in the transportation drugs. He was booked at the the Lake County Jail and released after posting $4,000 bond.
