A Leesburg man was arrested early Tuesday evening after an alleged attack on a teen during a basketball game.

Charles David Williams Jr., 26, had been playing basketball earlier that day when a 15-year-old boy attempted to dribble past Williams. He grabbed the boy around the waist and slammed him into a wall, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. The youth was knocked unconscious for a few seconds .

When the boy regained consciousness, he called his father on his cell phone via FaceTime. When he turned the phone so that his father could see who had slammed him into the wall, Williams knocked the phone out of the boy’s hand. The boy provided police with a picture of Williams and a picture of the license plate of the car Williams was driving.

When officers found Williams, he was still wearing the same clothes shown in the victim’s photo taken at the basketball court. When questioned, Williams admitted to swinging the boy by his hips and claimed that the boy’s head hit the wall, but said it was unintentional. He also admitted to slapping the phone out of the boy’s hand.

While being booked at the Lake County Jail a records check showed that Williams is on probation for felony aggravated assault and aggravated stalking. He was jailed without bond due to the probation violation.
