A 36-year-old Leesburg woman was arrested after she reportedly slapped her husband’s face when he told her he was going to report her daughter for being high on drugs.

The victim went to the Leesburg Police Department early Tuesday and told an officer he had been arguing with his wife, Tristia Marie Casey. The victim said he said he told Casey he was going to report her daughter to the Department of Children and Families for being under the influence of narcotics, according to the police report.

The victim said Casey then struck him with an open hand on the left side of his face. He didn’t provide any further information and he didn’t sign a written statement. There were marks on the victim’s face. The victim and Casey have been married and living together for six years, the report said.

An officer responded to the couple’s residence on Dixie Avenue and spoke with Casey, who confirmed she and the victim got into an argument due to him saying he was going to report her daughter to DCF. She said she pushed the victim away because he was in her face. Asked how she pushed him away, she said she used both hands and that she did push his face away from hers, according to the report.

Casey, who was previously convicted of battery in January 2012, was arrested and charged with simple domestic battery (one prior conviction). She was released from the Lake County Jail later in the day on $1,000 bond and will appear in Lake County Court on July 5.
