A Leesburg woman was arrested after allegedly stealing and damaging a car loaned to her boyfriend by his ex-girlfriend.
Adrianna Williams, 24, allegedly took a 2006 Lexus car from her boyfriend’s house on Dec. 30. The man who made the initial police report told Leesburg officers that he had been sleeping with Williams, who had become pregnant. When she sought help from him to terminate the pregnancy he offered to give her a ride, but would not pay for any medical care. He refused to give her a ride to Wildwood and went to bed. He was awakened by a neighbor who told him that she was in his car. When he came outside he saw her drive away in the Lexus. He explained that the Lexus belonged to the mother of his child who let him borrow the car. That woman signed an intent to prosecute Williams for the theft of her car. The owner of the car told the police that she had received Facebook messages from Williams as well as text messages telling her that her car was in Sumterville.
Lake County sheriff’s deputies found the Lexus near the intersection of County Road 471 and County Road 526 with several windows broken out. The vehicle was inoperable and was declared a total loss, according to the police report.
A Leesburg detective was assigned to the case and obtained an arrest warrant naming Williams as the suspected thief. Lake County deputies arrested Williams on April 1 in Tavares and transported her to the Lake County Jail where she was booked for grand theft of a motor vehicle with bond set at $2,000 which she posted.
