A 21-year-old Leesburg man with a history of arrests has landed back behind bars.

Thomas James Falzone was arrested Monday in Clermont on a warrant charging him with failure to appear after he skipped a March 8 court date in Lake County. He had been scheduled to answer to a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia as well as five traffic offenses.

Falzone had been arrested Feb. 15 in Eustis when police officers were investigating a report of a suspicious person.  When the officers made contact with Falzone, he appeared jittery and nervous. He told the officers that he was going to pick up a friend in Leesburg. An officer told Falzone that they had received a complaint that he had narcotics and a pipe. The officers requested permission to search his car which he denied. A K-9 alerted on the car after an open air sniff search. The officers found a pipe which had traces of fentanyl and baggies with traces of methamphetamine in them.

Lake County court records reveal that Falzone has never been issued a Florida drivers license and has five open traffic cases pending.

He was transported to the Lake County Jail where he was being held with no bond set.
