A Leesburg man was arrested after allegedly ambushing a woman as she opened the door to her home.

Police officers had been searching for the alleged assailant, 36-year-old Adrian Miller, since the attack was reported on Feb. 15. On that date at 3:40 a.m., Leesburg police were dispatched to a residence on Jones Avenue regarding a battery. They met with a woman who told them that a man she knew as “Buck” had knocked on her door. When she came to the door she asked who was there. Buck gave a different name as she would not have opened the door to him.

When she opened the door, Buck hit her in the left side of her face with a closed fist, breaking the eyeglasses she was wearing, according to the arrest report.

The victim was shown a picture of a possible match for the man known as “Buck.” Police officers knew of him from previous encounters. The woman identified “Buck” as Miller.

Miller was arrested on charges of battery and burglary and booked at the Lake County Jail. Bond was set at $12,000.
