A woman was arrested early St. Patrick’s Day morning after loitering at the Marathon gas station on Citrus Boulevard in Leesburg.

Michele Doucet, 46, had been observed near the gas station at 3 a.m. by a Leesburg police officer. The store was not open for business. When the officer pulled his patrol car into the parking lot, Doucet began to move away from the store. When the officer called out to her she ran behind the station and went into the woods behind the building. When officer searched the woods they found Doucet hiding under a log.

As she was being taken back to the police car she said she fled because “she did not feel like dealing with cops,” according to the police report. A records check showed she is on probation for burglarizing the Marathon station.

Doucet has been arrested 10 times in Lake County in the last four years including an incident in which she was found naked on the patio of a home in Fruitland Park.

She was booked at the Lake County Jail for loitering and prowling, resisting arrest and probation violations. She was held without bond due to the probation.
