A Leesburg man has been arrested after allegedly battering his girlfriend over phone calls to another man.
The woman had called 25-year-old Lorne Lynum from her workplace and asked him to bring her a sweater. He met her at the intersection of South Fish Camp Road and Sand Bluff Lane.
When he arrived he was very upset because he had gone through her iPhone and noted she had been talking to another man, according to an affidavit of probable cause from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. Lynum reached through the driver’s side window and struck her several times. Lynum grabbed the phone from her and would not give it back. He threw the phone back into her car cracking the phone’s display as well as the passenger window. He took the keys from her car so she and others working at that location could not leave the work site.
Lynum was booked at the Lake County Jail on a charge of burglary with battery to an occupied conveyance-domestic, robbery by sudden snatching, false imprisonment-domestic, criminal mischief and resisting an arrest without violence. He was released after posting $33,500 bond.
