A Leesburg man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after allegedly shoving his mother.

Lake County deputies were dispatched to a residence located in the 800 block of Montclair road after a woman called 911 and said that her son, 29-year-old Camron Woods, had shoved her when she tried to defend her grandson.

When the deputies arrived at the residence they saw Woods sitting on the front step drinking an alcoholic beverage. He approached the deputies and told them he shoved his mother because she made him mad.

When the deputies spoke with his mother she told them that Woods had approached her grandson with his fists outstretched in a threatening manner. She attempted to intervene. As she did so, Woods shoved her hard on her chest.

The grandson said he had an argument with Woods when Woods threw his basketball over a fence.

Woods was placed under arrest on a charge of domestic battery and booked at the Lake County Jail with bond set at $2,500.
