An argument over money troubles led to the arrest of a Leesburg woman when she allegedly threatened to shoot her live-in man friend.

The man and his girlfriend, 30-year-old Britany Blunt, 30, had been arguing about household finances Friday while driving to a local convenience store. The argument intensified and the man made comments about the Blunt’s children, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.

As the couple returned home, the man told the Blunt that he was moving out of the apartment they had shared during the four years they had been together. The man told the police when they arrived at the apartment on Seaview Drive that she had jumped out of the car and ran to the apartment yelling that she was going to break his belongings.

The man grabbed his Xbox from their shared bedroom and they began to argue over who owned the HDMI cord. The man said that Blunt went to her closet and got her 9mm semi-automatic pistol, pointed it at him and said she was going to shoot him. He ran out of the apartment and called the police.

When the police talked to Blunt, she said the man had pushed her and admitted that she said she was going to shoot him, but that she never took the gun out of its locked case.

Blunt was placed under arrest for the offense of domestic aggravated assault. She was transported to the Lake County Jail where bond was set at $2,000.
