A Leesburg sexual predator was arrested after he failed to properly register with law enforcement.
Gregory Allen Poehler Sr., 54, had been convicted in 2001 of sexually battering a victim under the age of 12. As a result of that conviction, he was sent to prison for 12 years and was declared to be a sexual predator which required him to register his home address, employment and vehicles.
Poehler was booked Thursday at the Lake County Jail after his failure to register with law enforcement as a sexual predator.
Poehler was also on probation for stealing more than $20,000 from a 88-year-old woman who had befriended him. He had been sentenced to local jail and five years’ probation for that offense on Oct. 9, 2018. A violation of probation petition was issued as a result of his arrest and he is being held without bond.
